GHB, GBL and BD all have different dosages. A high-risk dose of GHB is over 4g, with doses over 10g possibly leading to fatality. Common dosage for GBL is 0.9-1.5ml, with doses over 2ml causing heavy sleep and over 3ml considered a high-risk dose. Common dosage for BD is 1-2.5ml, with over 4ml causing heavy sleep and over 6ml to poisoning.

Ingesting this substance in a liquid form is the most common as it’s the lowest risk, followed by snorting or injecting. Snorting or injecting can hit you much quicker though, making it easier to overdose. It can also lead to infection. If you choose to snort or inject, make sure to always use sterile utensils every time.

GHB isn’t legal in New Zealand and is considered a Class B drug. In other countries, it can be used to help with regulating narcolepsy (known in the USA as Xyrem, as an example). It helps reduce excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy (a sudden loss of muscle tone).
